Drawings, Photo-sketches, Composites

Drawings, photo-sketches, and composites in small notebooks and on notecards are part of my process. I started working with images found in books, but not wanting to destroy the books, I began exploring different methods of reproducing and enlarging the pictures and parts of pictures I was interested in by hand. Early series were taken from books of calisthenics, mountain climbing, diving and swimming and postcards of 15th, 16th and 17th century paintings, as well as my own snapshots using my pocket digital camera. The work is as much about collecting and daily noticing as it is about how we construct our world. My image bank is always growing and changing  but is comprised of over 30,000 images from which I cull my working material.
